Gilbert Takamura, passed away on February 15, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1945 in Wailuku.
Gilbert was a loving husband, father, grand-father, brother, uncle and friend. He loved fishing, whether on a boat or from shore, and enjoyed talking about and showing his catch.
Gilbert was an accomplished rough and finished carpenter for over 50 years. He worked on numerous projects that he shared with all. He was always willing to help others. Everyone that knew him loved Gilbert. He is thought of and missed every day.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Takamura; sons, Reid (Stacy) Takamura; Kory (Samantha) Takamura; daughter, Ashley Takamura; 4 grandchildren, Lance & Lindsay Takamura and Kellen & Sophia Takamura; siblings, Cynthia (Thomas) Tashiro, Glen (Yuna) Takamura, and Myra (Noel) Ono.
Gilbert is predeceased by his brother, Leonard Takamura and is survived by his sister-in-law Yoshiko Takamura.
Private services were held.
